Tournament Rules and Regulations
USSPT is the most trusted and organized adult tournament host in Texas. We regulate our tournaments by skill and verify each player by way of objective station-based skills assessments.
RULES:
- Game rules are based on NCAA and USA rulebooks. Any stipulations or conformities will be mentioned on tournament day.
- Players who do not take a skills assessment prior to competition will be marked at the division level they enter (Example: Player enters a B tournament; they are now B level).
- Players may play UP a division BUT cannot play down divisions. Likewise, their skill level will be changed to the new division in our database and can no longer play in the previous division unless they test out. (Example: Player played C tournament one month and then played B the following month, player is now rated B and can no longer play C unless they take a skills assessment and rank lower).
- Once a player wins a division, they are then moved up to the following division and marked in our database as that new division ranking. (Example: A team plays in a C tournament and wins, every player on that team is now rated B and can no longer play in C division).
- Players who abuse the system, knowingly cheat, or "sandbag" will be removed from the tournament without refund, given a verbal warning, and will be labeled in our system.
- Players who have 2 offenses will be banned from playing in USSPT tournaments for 1 year.
Tests are offered MONTHLY and are both positional and all-around skill measured. These scores are combined to make an overall score that can be associated with the common national scoring system. However, the national scoring system is not regulated and is often misunderstood and mislabeled. USSPT remains the most trusted scoring system standards which help to balance fair and competitive gameplay.
